Hi! Thanks for Helping With My Science Fair Project

Eyewitness Memory Study – Please Read This First

What I’m Studying

I’m trying to figure out how accurate people’s memories are after just a little bit of time goes by. I’m also looking at whether things like your age or race affect how well you remember what someone looks like.

What You’ll Do

You’ll look at 10 different scenes and describe the person you see. Each scene will be one of two types:

  • Type A: You see a photo and describe the person while you can still look at the photo.
  • Type B: You see a photo, then play a quick game for 60 seconds, then describe the person from memory (no photo).

⏱️ It should take about 15-20 minutes to do all 10.

Is This Safe?

Risks: There’s basically no risk. You’re just looking at photos and answering questions.

Why This Matters: Collected data may show biases that can help the justice process be more effective.

Your Privacy

Everything you do here is private. I collect some basic info about you (like your age and race) just to see if that affects the results, but I don’t need your name or anything that identifies you.

You Don’t Have To Do This

It’s totally your choice. You can stop anytime you want, no problem.
